Union chief steps down

A leading union chief is standing down – two years after taking over the role.

Mick Hewer, regional industrial organiser for the T&G section of Unite, will leave his post this month.

He is to take over as the licensee of the Marine Hotel in Peel.

A temporary officer will be appointed and the post advertised.
