MGP - no choice about pit lane restrictions

by isleofman.com 21st August 2009

The Manx Motorcycle Club had to bring in pit lane restrictions in order for this year's Manx Grand Prix to go ahead.

After some close calls during TT 2009, the ACU - which is the governing body of the sport - withdrew the Mountain Course licence from the organisers until a new system was introduced.

Without the licence, no race meeting can be staged.

Competitors will not be allowed to go above 60 kilometres per hour when making pit stops.

President of the Manx Motorcycle Club Barry Skillicorn says there was no choice in the matter.
