A-level success for majority

by isleofman.com 21st August 2009

The majority of Isle of Man students applying to universities this year appear to have been successful.

The Department of Education says most sixth formers received the grades needed for their first choice course.

The pass rate for this year's A-levels on the Island was 97 per cent, the same as last year, with an estimated 60 percent at grade A to C.

Co-ordinating Advisor of 11 to 19 Education, Paul Craine, says few students will have to go through clearing.

Mr Craine will be speaking live on Mandate after 8am this morning (Friday).
