Peel Commissioners want to change dog by-laws in the town.
They've voted in favour of banning dogs on the beach at all times during the summer season.
Any changes would still have to be agreed by Tynwald.
At the moment you are allowed to take pets on the beach before 9am and after 9pm between April and September.
Chairman of Peel Commissioners Rodger Gimbert says it's because of a small minority of irresponsible dog owners.
