Sure is investing in the north of the Isle of Man by opening a new dealer channel in the town.
The telecoms company is partnering with start-up business ‘Xfor’ to open a mobile phone and small business centre in Ramsey.
The new store will be based at 70 Parliament Street, and will be run by Richard Carr and his partner, Victoria Calcutt.
Both are highly experienced in the UK telecoms industry, having worked in both the mobile and fixed line home and business solutions arenas.
Xfor will create three new jobs in Ramsey, in addition to the positions held by Richard and Victoria.
It will offer the same Sure tariffs and handsets that are available to customers online and in the Sure shop on Strand Street, Douglas, in addition to a direct customer facing sales channel that will target the SME companies across the Island.
A need for such an outlet both for personal and corporate customers outside of Douglas has been identified by Sure.
In addition to the Sure products and services, Xfor will offer home and business broadband services through Wi-Manx, a business and consumer photocopying service, and a promotional merchandise and corporate gift service.
Richard Carr comments, “The opening of a new Sure dealer channel in Ramsey is a very exciting prospect for the people of the north.
"Since I moved to the Island, I have had a lot of feedback from people that it is often difficult for them to get into Douglas after work or at the weekend to choose a new handset, and it is particularly difficult for business customers in the north to fit a trip to Douglas inside their 9 to 5 day to sort out their requirements.
“This shop will solve all of those problems and be a very valuable asset to people living and working in the north. I am delighted to be working with the Sure team and am confident this will be a huge success.”
Mike Stanton, Sure’s Country Manager, comments, “Creating new jobs and investing in Ramsey really demonstrates Sure’s commitment to the people of the north.
"The new shop is responding to demand and in the current economic climate, it is positive that we are able to expand in this way.
“Sure has some very exciting prospects for both personal and corporate customers following the introduction of mobile number portability (MNP) in July, and I would encourage people to visit our new store to find out more.”
The opening date of the new Sure store will be confirmed soon.
