Football is back!

The 2009/2010 football season in the Isle of Man kicks off this afternoon.

Sure Mobile Premier League Champions St. George's open their title defence at Laxey, and two other teams tipped for silverware meet at Croit Lowey, where Rushen host Peel.

Promoted St John's are at Union Mills, while the other new boys in the top flight, Castletown, have the day off.

Elsewhere, Ramsey travel south to Old Boys and Corinthians play St Mary's.

St George's manager Chris Bass is in bullish mood at the start of a new campaign:
