by isleofman.com 14th August 2009

The Isle of Man Under 15 squad is in Italy for the European Division Two Championships. There are eight countries taking part and these will be split into two leagues.

The Island is in Division A with Italy, France and Gibraltar. Division B consists of Belgium, Germany, Israel and Switzerland. After these are completed, the sides go into two matches to decide the rankings in the tournament. These games are decided by the final position of each country in their league.

The matches are to be 35 overs per innings with a maximum of seven overs per bowler.

The Island squad is: Matthew Ansell, Seb Aycock, Rowan Bird, Ryan Burns, David Haywood, Richard Jackson, Sam Kebble, Adam Killey, Shaun Kelly, Adam Mcauley, Nick Moffitt, Andrew Vels, Tom Whiteway. The manager is David Kenworthy and the coach Gareth Dawson.

The games will take place on three grounds in the Bologna region at San Lazzaro di Savena, Medicina and Rastignano. The Manx will play five games in six days and conditions are likely to be very tough – at the moment the temperatures in the area are reaching highs of 32 degrees centigrade!
