Lord Wallace on the crown dependencies

A Liberal Democrat Peer has been telling Manx Radio why he spoke out over the autonomy enjoyed by the crown dependencies.

Referring specifically to the Channel Islands, Lord Wallace said the dependencies' right to self govern should no longer apply, because they had become key financial centres.

But he also believes the Isle of Man's autonomy should be looked into, now the Ministry of Justice's management of Britain's relationship with the crown dependencies is to be examined.

That investigation is being carried out by the House of Commons Justice Commission:
