'Ramsey Rocket' ready to blast off at Ulster

by isleofman.com 14th August 2009

Conor Cummins has emphatically thrown down the gauntlet ahead of tomorrow's Ulster Grand Prix Superbike races.

The 'Ramsey Rocket' became the fastest road racer ever at yesterday's Dunrod 150 Superbike event, held on the same circuit as the Ulster, with an average speed of 133.282mph on the final lap as he took the chequered flag.

The previous mark for the course was broken by Guy Martin, Ian Hutchinson and then Bruce Anstey during the race, before Conor was the first to go over 133mph.

He had already grabbed pole for the Ulster by unofficially breaking the record during qualifying yesterday morning.

Prior to that the mark was held by John McGuinness at 131.7mph, on what is the fastest road circuit in the world.
