A 'Meet the Commissioners' meeting at the Corrin Hall in Peel tomorrow evening (Thursday 13th August) will give residents the opportunity to view new plans for town regeneration and traffic management.
All Commissioners will be present at the meeting and inviting questions from members of the public, who will be able to give their views on the plans.
The town regeneration proposals have been drawn up by Douglas architects McGarrigle and Jackson in partnership with the Commissioners.
They will be submitted to the Government to be considered for a share of its Town Centre Regeneration Fund. Overall, the cost of the planned works has been estimated at ?2.2 million; however, the proposals have been divided into three phases which could be independently completed.
The traffic management plans, currently held by the Department of Transport and due to go out for consultation, are thought to include proposals to ease the shortage of parking in the town.
A contentious issue since the Commissioners' abortive introduction, in 2007, of disc parking on Shore Road, it is expected to attract strong interest on this occasion.
Anyone wishing to find out more about the Regeneration project can find full details and submit their views here.
The meeting will take place from 7pm - 9pm in the Corrin Hall, Road, Peel and everyone is invited to attend.
