Langness inquiry continues

by isleofman.com 12th August 2009

There’ll be further evidence from walkers as the public inquiry into Rights of Way at Langness continues at the Mount Murray Hotel this morning (Wednesday).

The paths became the focus of a bitter dispute between ramblers and the Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, after he diverted a section of the path around his house, to protect his privacy.

Yesterday, former owner Simon Riggall told the inquiry that, as far he was aware, there had never been public rights of way over the land.

Island businessman Graham Ferguson-Lacey, who owns land at the northern end of the peninsula, will give evidence to the inquiry tomorrow (Thursday) morning.
