The second largest union in the Isle of Man is to ballot its members over a proposed pay freeze for the current financial year.
The Civil Service union Prospect will start the balloting process during the week commencing August 24th, and is advising members to 'decisively reject' the 0% offer.
Prospect says civil servants are the only public sector group being offered nothing in 2009 to 10, with other groups achieving rises of up to three per cent.
Negotiations officer Angela Moffatt says members in the civil service expect to take a 6% pay cut if proposed public sector reforms are pushed though, and enough is enough.
She says negotiations are continuing, but industrial action can't be ruled out:
