The Inspector holding the public inquiry into Public Rights of Way at Langness has threatened to summon Island businessman Graham Ferguson-Lacey.
Mr Lacey was represented at the hearing today by advocate James Quinn, who appeared on behalf of four companies Fort Island Limited, Castletown Golflinks Ltd, Redford Ltd and Fort Island Golf Lodge.
In a statement Mr Quinn said his clients were very concerned about the possiblity public rights of way were being discussed across the nearby Golf course.
He said should they exist the course may have to close down because of health and safety reasons.
Inspector Roy Hickey said he was expecting a representative to answer questions and he might be forced to summon Mr Ferguson-Lacey, who owns land at the northern end of the peninsula, if he didn't attend voluntarily.
It was later confirmed that Mr Ferguson-Lacey would give his evidence to the inquiry in person, at 9.30am on Thursday.
