Lucky escape for family

by isleofman.com 11th August 2009

A family of four, including a nine month-old baby and a four year-old child, had a lucky escape when a digger on a trailer overturned onto the roof of their car on Bemahague Road in Onchan yesterday afternoon.

Thankfully, they and their parents sustained only minor bruises and injuries caused from flying glass and were treated at Noble's Hospital.

The family and the driver of the lorry which was pulling the trailer also received treatment for shock.

The road was closed to recover the vehicles and repair the road surface, resulting in heavy congestion.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact PC Gascoyne at Onchan station on 675190, or Police Headquarters on 631212.
