Tenants told to clean up their act!

Tenants of Douglas Corporation houses are being told to keep their gardens tidy, or face the consequences.

People who lower the tone of their neighbourhood by dumping old elecrical appliances and items of furniture outside their front and back doors can expect visits from Town Hall staff.

Corporation employees will remove the offending items and tidy up the surrounding area, then send a bill which the tenant will have to pay.

Chairman of the Public Health and Housing Committee Colin Cain says a house in Willaston and two in Pulrose were recently tidied up in this way, and payment is awaited for the work:
