Farmers in the spotlight again

by isleofman.com 7th August 2009

The second of the two big agricultural shows of the summer gets underway this morning.

The Royal Manx is being staged at the traditional venue of Staward Farm in Sulby, and for the next two days thousands of visitors will walk around the show field viewing the livestock, produce, trade stands and demonstrations.

Manx Radio's farming correspondant John Kennaugh says it remains an important event, and a 'shop window' for the Isle of Man's agriculture industry (play audio file):

There will be regular live reports from the show field on Manx Radio today and tomorrow, building up to the judging of the Supreme Champion late tomorrow afternoon.
