Bees continue to thrive

Manx bees are doing better than their counterparts in the United Kingdom, according to experts here.

The UK's honey bee population has drastically declined after poor weather and illnesses over the last couple of years.

But thanks to the Island's isolation, and some good weather this year, its bees have been doing well, and producing plenty of honey.

Beekeeper Harry Owens from St John's says it's a better position than last year, when bad weather kept the bees in their hives:
