Big marathon turnout but marshals still needed

by isleofman.com 3rd August 2009

There are bumper numbers and a truly international field this weekend for one of the Island's top distance-running events.

The Salclear Marathon and Half Marathon, which are on on Sunday, attract competitors from all over Britain, Ireland and further afield with entrants coming from France, Poland, the USA and South Africa this year.

Victories are very much up for grabs as well as last year's race and overall championship winner Murray Lambden is out through injury while the winning woman, Rebecca Johnson, is from off-Island and has chosen not to compete this year.

Meanwhile there's still a need for marshals for the event.
