Pensioners angered by bus pass plan

There was good news today for pensioners in the Isle of Man who were angered by plans to reduce the hours they could use their free bus passes.

After Manx Radio broke the story yesterday, there was a flood of protests over a proposed restriction, which led to the Department of Tourism and Leisure postponing the proposal until at least October.

Plans to charge a half-fare for use of the buses between 3.30pm and 5.30pm on Weekdays were met with universal condemnation.

These senior citizens, all of whom have a bus pass, were not happy with the initial decision:
