Police issue 'dodgy builders' alert

by isleofman.com 31st July 2009

Police are warning Island residents to beware of dodgy builders calling at their door.

Officers say they have had a number of complaints about people claiming to be builders, but who carry out very poor and shoddy work.

They say the bogus workmen are targeting the elderly and vulnerable with bullying and intimidation tactics and charge excessive amounts of money.

The advice from police is don’t deal with people who turn up uninvited offering to do work, and any concerns can be referred to Police Headquarters on 631212.
