Viking longhouse nears completion

Five Duke of Edinburgh Award students from the Isle of Man are putting a roof on the replica Viking longhouse at Ardwhallan.

They are taking their gold award, which requires a five day and four night residential task to be completed.

As well as roofing, the students have learned to make and play traditional Viking games, and will install a fire pit at the site.

Outdoor Education Officer at Ardwhallan Paul Young says different groups have worked on the longhouse for some time, but he hopes it will be finished by the end of the week:
