An established Island charity has suffered a blow with the news eight care workers are to be made redundant next month.
The staff at the Manx Foundation for the Physically Disabled will lose their jobs on August 23, as the charity can no longer afford to operate its home care service.
The economic downturn and a lack of legacies have been cited as major factors in the decision.
Chairman David Cooke is paying tribute to the staff’s dedication and says the charity is working with social services to help those affected:
