Initiative aims to reduce car theft

Police in the north of the Island say an initiative reminding motorists not to leave their car keys in the ignition is aimed at keeping people safe.

Officers say if keys are left in cars they are more likely to be stolen, and they are determined to try to stop that sort of crime.

Operation Key Snatch is reminding people to make sure their vehicles are secure.

Inspector Derek Flint says it's also about making sure stolen cars don't end up in tragic accidents:
