by isleofman.com 28th July 2009

Pupils at Scoill Phurt Le Moirrey have received a trophy for laying the longest line of coins of the schools that took part in the Isle of Man Children Centre's Pennies on the Playground Challenge.

They picked up the prize with a distance of 325 metres.

Eight schools took part in the challenge and the pennies were later laid along the promenade in Douglas in a line which stretched all the way from the former Summerland site to the Sea Terminal.

All proceeds will go to the Isle of Man Children Centre's Out 2 Play scheme.
