Tracey Bell Explores ‘Emotive Beauty’ with Web TV Show

by isleofman.com 28th July 2009

Cosmetic and aesthetic practitioner Tracey Bell has teamed up with web portal My Face My Body to produce a unique web TV programme on the theme of ‘emotive beauty’.

Tracey, who has clinics on the Isle of Man and in Liverpool, co-hosts the programme with My Face My Body’s Stephen Handisides.

The programme shows interviews with people on the streets of Liverpool city centre, who are asked for their thoughts on body image and cosmetic treatments, and a live discussion at the Tracey Bell clinic on Hanover Street.

The Emotive Beauty feature is the third programme produced by My Face My Body, which is an educational portal designed to provide clear, practical, objective information about cosmetic beauty treatments, including what they involve and how much they cost; two earlier shows were themed around breast augmentation and teeth whitening.

Lisa Curley of the Tracey Bell clinics explains the concept of emotive beauty: ‘When we talk about ‘emotive beauty’, we mean the emotive difference that having a treatment can make.

‘It’s about looking in the mirror and saying ‘I like what I see’, which in turn gives you a greater sense of confidence. You reap the rewards of making a change.

‘We’ve found that when a patient makes a physical change, as time goes on, their outlook and lifestyle change too.

‘They may go on to have other treatments but what’s important is that they come to like and take an interest in their appearance, and this can boost their self-esteem, their sense of motivation, and overall wellbeing’.

‘It’s not about perfection but making the most of what you’ve got. And far from being superficial or motivated by vanity, this process can turn someone’s life around - for instance, a young person who suffers from chronic acne'.

Tracey Bell clinics offer ‘360 degree’ rejuvenation, incorporating cosmetic dentistry with non surgical treatments, laser procedures, weight management and body shaping and beauty spa, to offer a complete service.

It is a misconception, continues Lisa, that cosmetic treatments are financially out of reach of the average person ‘on the street’:

'Tracey’s message is that there is something for everyone and also, that less is more.

‘She would never suggest a treatment to anyone if she didn’t think they needed it. However, if someone does want a treatment but they are on a strict budget, then we have ‘entry level’ options.

‘For instance, if someone wants fuller lips, they could try a lip plumping cream rather than a cosmetic procedure.

‘Ultimately, our prices are determined by our practitioners’ high levels of expertise, experience and professionalism, and the results reflect that’.
