Main Road in Laxey reopened last night, after being closed for most of the day.
The closure was caused by a vehicle carrying a large mechanical excavator, which brought down a Manx Electric Railway overhead power line.
It happened at the vicarage wall and Princes Motors crossing at about 10.50am.
As well as the road closure, tram services were suspended for the day while the area was made safe.
There were no injuries.
