The Main Road in Laxey is reopening for an hour between 5pm and 6pm to let traffic through during rush hour.
This morning (Monday) a Manx Electric Railway power line was damaged after being hit by a vehicle carrying a large mechanical excavator.
The road will be open to vehicles smaller than a single decker bus.
The road between New Road and Churchill junction and Captains Hill will then close again between 6pm and 9pm.
