The Main Road in Laxey remains closed this afternoon (Monday) after a vehicle carrying a large mechanical excavator brought down a power line.
The Manx Electric and Snaefell Mountain Railway overhead line was damaged at the Vicarage Wall and Princes Motors crossings in the village at around 10.50am.
There were no injuries.
The road is currently closed and police and staff from the MER engineering team are in attendance.
Tram services have been suspended for the day.
