The level of support provided by the DHSS to Hospice Isle of Man has been put into a formal contract for the first time.
An annual sum of ?600,000 will be paid to the charity for a period of five years, and there will be further assistance, such as help with drugs, laundry, clinical and sterile supplies, and staff pensions.
Health Minister Eddie Teare and Hospice chairman John Quinn signed the agreement on Friday.
Mr Quinn says it will provide a degree of certainty for an organisation which must raise ?3.5 million pounds a year to meet the cost of the services it provides:
