Johnny Watterson roadworks brought forward

by isleofman.com 24th July 2009

Major roadworks on one of the capital's busiest routes are to start a week earlier than planned.

Improvements to Johnny Watterson's Lane will now begin on Monday, August 3, and will last for ten weeks.

During the period the road will be closed between Hailwood Avenue and Campion Way.

Transport Minister David Anderson says a new split shift, combined with co-operation of the locals, will speed up the work (play audio file):

The scheme has been brought forward due to the early completion of works at Castletown Road in Port St Mary.
