Chairman unsure about 'guard of honour' idea

The chairman of Onchan Commissioners is courting controversy by criticising a suggested guard of honour for the wedding of the Governor's son, during tomorrow's Village Fair.

Brian Stowell says Lady Haddacks, the wife of the Lieutentant Governor, would like to see stallholders at the fair cheering the bride, as her car goes along Church Road on the way to the wedding.

Mr Stowell thinks the Manx tendency for stubbornness means not everybody will welcome the idea:
