Police probe disturbance

An incident in which a distressed woman flagged down a passing taxi driver in Ballasalla in the early hours of Sunday morning has prompted police involvement.

They want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed a disturbance in the area near to the Paddocks Estate on Station Road.

At about 3.30am, the woman flagged down the taxi and, shortly afterwards, walked away towards the Whitestone pub.

She’s believed to be around 40 years of age with blonde hair parted in the middle. She was dressed in track suit bottoms and a vest.

Police would also like to speak to the woman to ensure she is safe.
