Swine flu update - advice for pregnant women

Pregnant women in the Isle of Man are being told to think twice before travelling to the United Kingdom.

That's the latest advice from the Island's Public Health Directorate in relation to swine flu, after the authorities in the UK suggested they should avoid unnecessary travel and crowded places.

The number of confirmed cases in the Island has reached double figures and currently stands at eleven.

Unlike the UK, where the emphasis has switched to treating the increasing number of people infected, the Island is still in the 'containment' phase.

But, Director of Public Health Dr Parameswaran Kishore says pregnant women need to be aware of the risks:
