by isleofman.com 20th July 2009

Police are appealing for information after what they call 'a distressed woman' flagged down a passing taxi in the early hours of yesterday morning.

It happened near the Paddocks Estate, in Station Road, Ballasalla, at about 3.30am.

Police say that after a short time the woman walked away from the cab, in the direction of the Whitestone pub, without speaking to the driver.

The woman is described as about 40 years old, with blonde hair parted in the middle.

She was wearing track suit bottoms and a vest.

Anybody who has any information about the incident, including the woman herself, is asked to ring Port Erin Police Station, on 83 2222.

Alternatively you can ring the anonymous Crimestoppers line, on 0800 555 111.
