News coverage in new hands

by isleofman.com 16th July 2009

Coverage of the Isle of Man on ITV regional news is in the hands of Granada from today.

The Island's population is a small percentage of Granada's audience, but coming under the Granada news umbrella was widely seen as the best option, after Border TV's take-over by TyneTees, which is based in the north-east of England.

Granada's making a big fuss of the Isle of Man today, with its flagship teatime news programme Granada Reports being co-presented live from Douglas.

The show will include a guide to the Island by weatherman Fred Talbot, a feature on basking sharks and a spotlight on the success of Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish in the Tour de France.
