The evening was hosted by Liverpudlian comedian Stan Boardman and included an auction, raffle and performances from a number of famous faces.

BBI MD John Pearson said 'This year's Wooden Spoon event was another resounding success.

'The work put in by the organising committee is immense and they should be proud of their achievements.

'BBI is delighted to have once again been the major sponsor for this event.  Everything from the golf registration to the gala dinner was perfect, and more importantly raised lots of money for a worthwhile cause.'

Ian Forrest, representative for Wooden Spoon, said 'The Wooden Spoon Isle of Man is a rugby-based charity that supports disadvantaged children and young people on the Island.

'We are extremely delighted with the ?10,000 which was raised on the day, making the event once again a great success.

'Our thanks go to Bradford & Bingley International for all the hard work they put into the event and everyone who took part.'
