Stamps and coins presented to Gibbs

by isleofman.com 12th July 2009

Isle of Man Post and the Manx Treasury made special presentations to Bee Gees Barry and Robin Gibb after they were made Freemen of the Borough of Douglas.

Post Office chairman Alan Crowe, MLC, presented the brothers with a framed set of stamps, celebrating the world famous group's 50 years in show business.

And member of the Manx Treasury with responsibility for coins Alex Downie, MLC, handed over commemorative crown coins, with the same theme.

The Gibb brothers and their late brother, Maurice, were made freemen at Douglas Town Hall on Friday.

Barry said it was the greatest honour they had ever received.
