Bee Gees - Highlights of 'Freedom' ceremony

Douglas is known for many things, but being a star-spangled town isn't one of them!

However, there was more than a touch of showbiz glamour today when large crowds gathered outside the town hall in Ridgeway Street to welcome singing superstars the Bee Gees.

Barry and Robin Gibb were there to receive the Freedom of the Borough, a genuine honour, rarely bestowed by the council.

The presentation ceremony was a formal occasion, with the full council assembled, and although the members were all behind the move, a vote had to be taken.
