Criminal damage by campers at school

by isleofman.com 9th July 2009

Police are hunting irresponsible campers who left a trail of destruction at a school in Braddan at the weekend.

On Tuesday, staff at Braddan School discovered an abandoned tent, a large scorch mark from a fire that had been lit on the school playing field, empty cans and bottles and hundreds of pounds worth of damage to play equipment.

A garden built for the pupils had also been broken into, and police officers say they will step up patrols around schools as the summer holidays approach.

Head teacher Louise Oates says the damage was extensive (play audio file):

If you have any information about those responsible you can contact police on 631212.
