A plaque is being unveiled at Noble's today to mark the huge contribution the Island's charities make to the hospital.
The hospital says the generosity of local charities helps it provide equipment and facilities it couldn't otherwise afford.
Marian Kenny reports (text, below, from attached audio file):
The plaque, erected in the main reception at Noble's, salutes what the health authorities describe as the 'very generous contributions' made by charitable organisations.
These range from dedicated funds such as the League of Friends of Noble's Hospital to contributions from Island businesses, such as the Micogaming Health and Care Trust.
Other donors include the Sherwen Fund and the Henry Bloom Noble Trustees.
Noble's says the donations make a huge difference to the comfort and safety of both patients and staff, by funding facilities which could not be afforded from the department's budget.
Today's ceremony will be hosted by hospital manager Barbara Scott, and political member for health Alan Crowe, MLC.
