The 'Manx Missile' Mark Cavendish retains the green jersey as he goes into today's fifth stage of the Tour de France.

Yesterday's stage was a team time-trial, in which Cav's Columbia HTC team finished fifth overall.

It was won by Lance Armstrong's Astana team.

Cav's performance as the sprinter to beat, which has seen him take two stages already, has won the adminration of the international media.

Andrew McGrath from Cycling Weekly has watched the Columbia star's tactics and motivation closely (play audio file):

Today's fifth stage is a 196.5 km run from Le Cap d'Agde to Perpignan.
