by isleofman.com 7th July 2009

Firefighters from Ramsey were sent to Ballaghennie Lane, Bride after a microlight aircraft caught light this morning.

The aircraft was on a trailer, when it’s thought an electrical fault sparked the fire, just before 11am.

Officers wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze using two high pressure water hosereels.

The aircraft was severely damaged, but nobody was hurt.

Fire crews quickly brought the flames under control but stayed at the scene to damp down hotspots and investigate the cause.
