The Isle of Man has been celebrating its National Day, with the spotlight on the annual open air sitting of Tynwald at St John's.
The ceremonial part of the proceedings took place in perfect conditions, and began with the Lieutenant Governor, Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks, laying a wreath at the national war memorial, shortly after his arrival on the fair field.
After the traditional service in the Royal Chapel, twelve acts were promulgated in English and Manx Gaelic by the two deemsters, then about nine petitions for redress of grievance were handed over by, or on behalf of, members of the public.
Later, the Tynwald Honour was presented to Ian Qualtrough.
The afternoon provided the opportunity for some family fun, with numerous stalls in the bright sunshine.
The day will be rounded off with a firework display in the Tynwald Hill area, from 10.45pm.
