New rules to control street advertising

Shopkeepers and cafe owners in Douglas who use 'A' boards to advertise outside their premises are going to be subject to much tougher rules from now on.

The borough council has taken over responsibility for every aspect of their use, and is promising to come down hard on anybody who doesn't comply new regulations.

Leader of the Council David Christian says there are too many boards in the main retail areas of the town, and the aim is to tidy the place up:
