Art theft case from 1993 cleared up

Manx police have helped clear up a case dating back 16 years and involving a ?500,000 painting conned out of a Maughold woman.

The woman was ripped off by door-to-door fraudsters, and this week former solicitor Anthony Blok started a four-year prison sentence for selling it on and laundering the cash.

Deputy Chief Constable Gary Roberts worked on the case back in 1993, and says he's glad it's finally been solved.

He says it all began when a man knocked on the woman's door to talk to her about the artwork:
