Water wheel returns to former glory

The historic water wheel at St John's Mill has been officially opened, following a lengthy restoration project.

A group of volunteers came together six years ago to return the wheel and wheel pit at the former woolen mill to their original state.

Now the project has become a reality, thanks to engineers Eric Wilkins and Stan Kewley.

Around 50 guests attended the ceremony earlier this week.

Eric says it was a tremendous challenge, but well worth the effort:
