More golds in pool; football heartbreak

by isleofman.com 2nd July 2009

There’s more golds for the Island swimmers at the 13th NatWest Island Games in Aland.

Grant Halsall has won gold in the 100m backstroke and claimed a new Island Games record in the process – 55.39 seconds.

The other Manx swimming sensation, Olivia Rawlinson, has won gold in the women’s 200 metres butterfly, while Heather Millar has claimed silver in the women’s 100 metres freestyle.

It’s disappointment, however, for the men’s football team who have lost their semi-final against the hosts, 2-1 after extra-time.
