Tortoise back in safe hands

Staff at the Island Aquatic Centre in Braddan are celebrating this morning, following the safe return of a stolen tortoise.

The year-old reptile was handed back through a third party yesterday evening, after appeals went out on Manx Radio.

It would have died if it hadn't continued a course of medication, but it is now back in its enclosure and 'fighting fit'.

Paula Wadsworth from the Island Aquatic Centre says looking after a tortoise requires a lot of specialist knowledge:
