Visitor hit hedge at estimated 100mph

A man who crashed his car into a hedge during TT week has admitted dangerous driving.

High Bailiff Michael Moyle heard Mark Wheeler, of Chertsey in Surrey, was driving at Barregarrow on June 4, with his father in the passenger seat.

Witnesses estimated he was travelling at 100mph when he lost control of his car and crashed.

At the scene, Wheeler told police he had been driving recklessly in the unrestricted area and admitted he was in the wrong.

Mr Moyle fined him ?1,500 and disqualified him from driving for 15 months.
