Police demand responsible behaviour in the countryside

by isleofman.com 1st July 2009

'Don’t forget to follow the country code' is the message from police, after a farmer made a complaint.

Officers say the farmer in Braddan claims gates to his fields are deliberately being left open, allowing cows to escape onto roads in the area.

A police spokesman says the irresponsible act could jeopardise the safety of motorists and pedestrians.

There is a reminder to the public that if a gate is opened, it should always be closed afterwards.
